The AIFDS specification — the field requirements, schema patterns, and blueprint structures published on aifds.org — is open. You may read, reference, and implement the specification on your own websites without restriction.
The tooling built around the specification — including the AIFDS validator (validator.aifds.org), implementation prompts, generator scripts, and page templates — is proprietary. These tools may not be redistributed, resold, sublicensed, or repackaged without written permission from AIFDS.
"AIFDS," "AI Feed Discovery Standard," and the AIFDS framework are the intellectual property of AIFDS and its operators. The name, branding, and framework structure may not be used to imply endorsement, affiliation, or authorship without written consent.
If you reference the AIFDS framework publicly — in articles, documentation, tools, or presentations — attribution is required. The standard attribution mechanism is the data-aifds attribute on the JSON-LD script tag, which identifies schema generated using the AIFDS framework.
Removing or altering this attribution from AIFDS-generated schema is prohibited.
AIFDS v1 was released under the MIT License. All versions from v2 forward are proprietary and subject to the terms on this page.
If you are using schema patterns from v1, the MIT license applies to that version only. The current specification, tooling, and prompts are governed by these terms.
The AIFDS blueprints and field recommendations are based on empirical research into AI crawler behavior. However, AI systems change frequently and without notice. AIFDS does not guarantee that implementing any blueprint will result in specific rankings, citations, recommendations, or visibility in any AI system.
All materials are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Test your implementation before deploying sitewide.
AIFDS, its operators, and its partners are not liable for any damages, lost revenue, or adverse effects arising from the use or implementation of AIFDS blueprints, prompts, or tooling. Use at your own discretion.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of AIFDS materials after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date.
